So after living in my current place for over a year I’ve decided it’s time to invest in decorating it some more. Currently, I’m in the process of creating a mini-tv lounge area in my room. I have a black leather sectional to work with and a desk (although I’m debating getting rid of the desk altogether). Since I still have yet to find a ottoman-style coffee-table I like or a TV or TV stand I figure that pretty much leaves pillows for the couch for me to work with. Currently I have two white pillows which I would love to keep but I want to add some color with a patterned pillow or two. Additionally, I’d like to add a soft throw for the area. My aim is to lighten the area up since the rest of my bedroom is black and gray. Above are some of the pillow options I’m debating for the room but I’m open to your ideas as well so please let me know your thoughts!
I can’t wait to put together a cute little space. My hope is it will blend with the rest of the room but also show a little personality with accents such as some of my favorite purses and artwork.
With Labor Day we’ve officially hit the end of the end of summer. As I begin to transition into fall I’ve fallen head over heels in love with taupe and nude colored items. In this look I’m wearing a nude colored Jolie sweater from Kinsley (formerly known as Keene) over a while Abound tank from Nordstrom Rack. The Abound tanks are surprisingly comfortable and have a great fit. I paired the look with a personalized necklace given as a gift along with a Marc Jacobs watch. What pieces are you wearing to transition into fall?
Hey there! So I thought I would kick this blog back off with a feature on my current fashion accessory obsession: watches. For the longest time, part of me thought I would never really want a watch because I had little use for it.I theorized I would wear it for a week and then never again. My test for myself was if I could wear a basic watch for more than two months I would go ahead and buy a more expensive one. So I went to Target and bought a basic gold wrist watch for $16 and got it adjusted to fit my wrist.
Fast forward two months and the gold has faded off the watch so it is about time to invest in a new one. I’m deciding between a few. I love the simplicity of the Kate Spade Gramercy Grand Watch. I’m also very partial towards anything Kate Spade, and I love the touch of pink because it personalizes it just a little bit.
I also love how sleek this Michael Kors “Slim Runway” Round Bracelet Watch looks! This is definitely one of the fancier watches in terms of style.
I also love this Michael Kors “Jet Set Sport” watch. I feel it’s a great compromise between elegant and simple.
I’m hoping to decide on a watch soon. In the meantime, I welcome your suggestions on which one or any others I should look at! I’m pretty set on a gold wristwatch but I’m open to considering some other ones as well!
Mondays are incredibly depressing, so here’s to hoping this look on the blog makes yours a little cheerier. There are a few things you won’t believe about how this outfit came together, 1) I needed to go to the grocery store and 2) I had no where to go after that. I basically dressed up for little to no reason at all, considering I normally go to the grocery with wet hair and sporting sweat pants.
The top I got for a steal from Clothing Shop Online, I also have it in Maroon and the pants are of course, from the Gap, where I get most of my pants. I paired it with a Juicy Couture necklace, the Kate Spade Lainey purse and these adorable snake printed loafers from the Gap. To be honest when I bought these loafers I thought I would wear them all the time because they are so incredibly cute, but they are so dressy at the same time it’s hard to find an everyday excuse to wear them. I’m excited though, that I FINALLY found an outfit they fit well. Out of everything I’m wearing I would say the top is the item I wear the most, I shop at Clothing Shop Online for my basics because they are of strong quality and truly at the best prices on the internet. Well, that’s all for now, but check back soon for more fun looks!
I figured it was time for a wear to work look and I’ve been waiting to wear this look for about a year. I got this skirt from the Gap and I love the detail on it, it’s got a slight shine to it also so it dresses up the typical blue suit skirt. The blazer is from Kaitlyn and the white button-down under is from Gap (of course, I always wear something from Gap). I accessorized with heels from Guess and necklace from Juicy Couture. I’m always searching for more formal or wear to work outfits that are fashionable too, because it can hard to dress appropriately and still be stylish.
It’s still sort of fall, right? I love this look because it is super warm and a great integration of fall colors. My boots are the Ellerby Enzo Angiolini boots from Nordstrom which I love wearing for more formal occasions, I have another pair of black boots for going out casually. I totally recommend investing in two pairs of black boots, in fact I call it my Black Boot Rule— have one for more formal occasions and ones that you wouldn’t be upset if they got a little dirty. It’s such a basic item that investing in two is totally worth it because you’ll wear it a lot. I of course added my black Kate Spade purse–my absolute go-to purse these days.
This is a totally girly look but I LOVE IT! I got this adorable denim top with white embroidery detail a few weeks ago at Kohls. I love it because I’m a huge follower of the denim button down trend but I’ll be honest, I was looking for a way to reinvent my basic denim look and this outfit totally does that. It’s causal enough that I can wear natural make-up too which is another huge plus. I wore it with my Tiffany’s Daisy Pearl Necklace (from the Gatsby collection) because it is dainty and girly which goes with this whole look.
The look brings me back to my high school private school days. I love putting a sweater over a a flannel look because it instantly dresses it up. I added a belt to give more shape to the look because otherwise it can seem a little top heavy. This look is my g0-to for grabbing coffee with friends, it’s got an academic feel to it that works well with coffee houses. The flannel is American Living, the belt and sweater are Gap of course (one of my favorite brands).
Another way I wear my Must-Have Skater Skort from Forever 21 is with a red blazer from the Gap, a fun t-shirt from Forever 21 and a black Kate Spade. I love this look because it adds a strong pop of color. Scientifically speaking adding red to your outfit gets you noticed more by guys ladies, so if that’s what you’re after this outfit is a good-choice for you! The look is also professional (the blazer) yet girly (the skort) which can be a hard combination to come. I’ve found that mixing up which shoes you wear with this look totally alters the type of event you can wear it to, I personally like to wear my white Keds with this look but there’s nothing stopping you from wearing heels or wedges. I added red lipstick because it went with the outfit and it really polishes the look overall in my opinion, however normally I am very careful about red lipstick because I’m so pale it’s a little hard for me to pull off.
Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a dress, this is actually a Forever 21 Must-Have Skater Skort with a cute, part lace top from Kaitlyn (closer look at the lace detail in photo below). I love the skort because I can wear it out and not worry about it being delicate to dance in. It really is the best of both shorts and a skirts! You’ll be seeing me pair this skort with tons of different looks on the blog this coming week, it’s such an affordable buy and one that you can pair with a variety of looks!
