Mondays are incredibly depressing, so here’s to hoping this look on the blog makes yours a little cheerier. There are a few things you won’t believe about how this outfit came together, 1) I needed to go to the grocery store and 2) I had no where to go after that. I basically dressed up for little to no reason at all, considering I normally go to the grocery with wet hair and sporting sweat pants.
The top I got for a steal from Clothing Shop Online, I also have it in Maroon and the pants are of course, from the Gap, where I get most of my pants. I paired it with a Juicy Couture necklace, the Kate Spade Lainey purse and these adorable snake printed loafers from the Gap. To be honest when I bought these loafers I thought I would wear them all the time because they are so incredibly cute, but they are so dressy at the same time it’s hard to find an everyday excuse to wear them. I’m excited though, that I FINALLY found an outfit they fit well. Out of everything I’m wearing I would say the top is the item I wear the most, I shop at Clothing Shop Online for my basics because they are of strong quality and truly at the best prices on the internet. Well, that’s all for now, but check back soon for more fun looks!
This is a totally girly look but I LOVE IT! I got this adorable denim top with white embroidery detail a few weeks ago at Kohls. I love it because I’m a huge follower of the denim button down trend but I’ll be honest, I was looking for a way to reinvent my basic denim look and this outfit totally does that. It’s causal enough that I can wear natural make-up too which is another huge plus. I wore it with my Tiffany’s Daisy Pearl Necklace (from the Gatsby collection) because it is dainty and girly which goes with this whole look.
Another way I wear my Must-Have Skater Skort from Forever 21 is with a red blazer from the Gap, a fun t-shirt from Forever 21 and a black Kate Spade. I love this look because it adds a strong pop of color. Scientifically speaking adding red to your outfit gets you noticed more by guys ladies, so if that’s what you’re after this outfit is a good-choice for you! The look is also professional (the blazer) yet girly (the skort) which can be a hard combination to come. I’ve found that mixing up which shoes you wear with this look totally alters the type of event you can wear it to, I personally like to wear my white Keds with this look but there’s nothing stopping you from wearing heels or wedges. I added red lipstick because it went with the outfit and it really polishes the look overall in my opinion, however normally I am very careful about red lipstick because I’m so pale it’s a little hard for me to pull off.
Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a dress, this is actually a Forever 21 Must-Have Skater Skort with a cute, part lace top from Kaitlyn (closer look at the lace detail in photo below). I love the skort because I can wear it out and not worry about it being delicate to dance in. It really is the best of both shorts and a skirts! You’ll be seeing me pair this skort with tons of different looks on the blog this coming week, it’s such an affordable buy and one that you can pair with a variety of looks!
If there is one thing I’ve been craving this fall it’s combat boots! In some ways I think they have replaced tall boots this season, I love the rugged look they give to an outfit and how they can be paired with so much. It’s also not too hard to find an affordable pair of combat boots. I’ve selected three above that are great finds under $50.
So many retailers are offering great deals this fall for buying two pairs of shoes, one of the places offering these deals is Just Fab. They have a sale section where you can buy one pair and get another one free. Most of their styles are $40 or under…that’s TWO PAIRS of shoes for $40 bucks! You have to sign up to join and do a quick “style quiz” this helps them narrow down what you like and don’t like so they can send you a personalized boutique. I would say the site is certainly not for everyone but if you like having a personalized virtual stylist Just Fab is a no-brainer.
Another great place is Charlotte Russe! Sadly, I don’t have one near me but they still offer great sales online. Pretty much every week they have a buy two pairs of shoes type discount. I’d recommend checking it out. In particular I’m in love with these combat boots that I can style two different ways.
No matter where you get your combat boots, at the end of the day you’ll be making a solid fall wardrobe purchase! They go really well with tights, leggings, and knee high socks. A cute summery skirt can easily be repurposed to pair with the whole ensemble, just throw a sweater on it, and it makes a perfect fall outfit!
While I may not be heading out to sea anytime soon I’ve got the perfect outfit for the vacation. I have these gold Dana Buchman wedges that got a while back because they go with so much it’s amazing! The cork look of the wedge gives them more of a casual or daytime look in my opinion, which is why they are perfect for this outfit. The Cynthia Rowley top I got for a steal (just $5!) It’s a personal favorite of mine because the cobalt on white is a gorgeous print. I also pair it under blazers from time to time because it’s a great way to dress up a business casual look.
The white linen shorts are a great addition to practically any outfit, I have them in 4 different colors! (from the Gap). I love that they are linen and longer than most shorts so I can pair them with dressier outfits. Last but not least… cute bracelets from the Gap as well, in cobalt add a personalized touch to the outfit.
If I were actually on vacation I would totally pair this look with a fedora or summery hat.
